NCO Partners with National Radio Program |
|
| |
|
NCO has partnered with Public Radio International (PRI) and WYNC to develop community
engagement for The Takeaway, a new national morning show that premiered in April. Unlike
most news programs, The Takeaway presents news from national and international sources and
engages listeners in daily conversations around those topics. This innovative format gives The
Takeaway the potential to expand the possibilities of how community engagement can extend the
impact of on-air news.

NCO'S Repository Pick: WCMU Convenes Rural Community |
|
| |
|
Of the potential roles a public broadcaster can play in its community, WCMU in
Mt. Pleasant, Michigan has chosen the role of convener. Recently, the station leveraged past
success to support community elders struggling with depression. By gathering a dozen organizations
to forge a coalition, WCMU has created a series of valuable discussions that challenge citizens to
find solutions.
