Overall Goals: My Source is an initiative created by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to strengthen the relationship between the public and the station. Through My Source, the public will be able to share their own and authentic stories about how public broadcasting serves as a source for entertainment, information and education.
WIPR is in the selection process of a production crew to compile positive messages from viewers, listeners and users to broadcast spots for television, radio and internet that shows the impact of our station in their lives. All of these spots will be in Spanish with local talents.

Overall Goals: Goals and objectives of this community summit include, providing professionals with a deeper understanding of the issue; providing tools for early detection of those in professional settings, and ways to successfully live with the illness. A larger goal would be to cause a “ripple effect” with the information provided to summit attendees. We wish for them to take the information into their workplaces and create their own mini-summits on site using materials given as well as support from community partners: Community Mental Health (CMH), National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI),YMCA and others.

Overall Goals: WTTW Kids' Early Learning Initiative, an out-growth of the former Ready To Learn project, seeks to educate adults about the education components of our programming and encourage use of the programming in supporting emergent literacy, child development, and other early learning areas of education. We also seek to encourage literacy development through book distribution and by providing literacy experiences beyond the screen for school-age children.

Overall Goals: This initiative promotes the concept of the parent as the child’s first teacher and provides support materials and resources to parents of young children for this purpose. A community collaboration between WDSE, United Way of Greater Duluth, and the Duluth Public Library, will provide informative and interactive workshops for parents, disseminate materials and resources, and use the broadcast power of public television to increase awareness that Parenting Counts in the life of the child.

Overall Goals: UNC-TV will train parents from a diversity of backgrounds to increase their parenting skills and to raise awareness of Parenting Counts. We will partner with Wake County Ready to Learn Centers and Jones County Partnership for Children to conduct 27 workshops and one train the parent session that will reach a total of 740 people.

Overall Goals: WKAR will work with three partners to present training on parenting skills, language development and emergent literacy skills, and emotions/emotion coaching to the families enrolled in their programs. We will use the "train the trainer" format which will allow us to expand our outreach efforts using our current WKAR staff. (We will also continue to offer the training to other community partners with whom we have been working these past three years.).

Overall Goals: The KCTS 9 Kids & Family: Parenting Counts project will increase community access to crucial early learning and child development information to enhance the skills of parents and caregivers shown by research to nurture the children in their care. KCTS 9 will achieve this by utilizing Parenting Counts resources for parent and caregiver workshops, broadcast spots, materials distributed at events and activities targeting parents and caregivers, and relevant information and links showcased on the KCTS 9 website.

Overall Goals: WXXI will launch this initiative through aggressive promotion that coincides with the national broadcast. A We Shall Remain Working Group will be established with partner organizations such as the Native American Culture Center, The Friends of Ganondagan, Rochester Museum and Science Center (RMSC) and representatives from area school districts to produce six localized educational segments to broadcast statewide on Homework Hotline. The segments will be uploaded into EdVideo Online providing access to 3.3 million students and more than 262,000 educators.
